Rejuvenated by Joe Lee in 2001 the layout completely changed from its original 1967 design. Now the course includes added hazards to make life more complicated for golfers. Including some deceptive elevations into the course ensures that many shots end in surprising results, adding to the unpredictability of the Hillcrest Course. Perhaps the best feature of this championship course comes in the form of its demanding eighteenth island hole which ensures that every round ends in a bang.
